Over the last few years, Kobe Bryant’s iconic sneakers have been retrofitted as part of the “Protro” series, which injects new technology into sneakers while retaining the OG style intact. Although the future of the Kobe-related Nike launches has been unclear after the tragic death of the NBA legend in January, the iconic Nike Kobe 5 is expected to be re-released.
Whereas the “Lakers” Nike Kobe 5 Protro was leaked online earlier, we now have an official look at two “Bruce Lee” colorways. The first is the bold yellow color that we first saw in 2010, during the initial run of the model, while the second is the contrasting black and white color.
The yellow pair were inspired by Bruce Lee’s bodysuit worn in the symbol of Game of Death. The yellow walls and the toe caps are disrupted by black panels, completing the tracksuit reference, while the bold red claw marks on the forefoot pay tribute to Lee’s battle wounds from the film Enter the Dragon.
“Alternate Bruce Lee” replicates the same design in the color scheme of white, black and red. Other features include the red design of the Swooshes and the silver Kobe logos on each tongue.
The said pairs will be available in November 24 for $180 at Nike SNKRS
