Aidan Connell is a 21st century blues-man and singer songwriter who has been hailed as the savior of contemporary British Blues his live performances have been praised by music legends including Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr and Seasick Steve. Aidan Connell is influenced by Blues icons such as Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, combining blues swagger with well crafted songwriting and guitar virtuosity which reinterprets the well worn blues genre with a fresh approach and much needed urgency.

Upon moving to London’s East End Aidan modeled for extra cash , including ads with Kate Moss and Esquire Magazine whilst seeking out like minded individuals to create music with. Several short lived bands led Aidan to seek out a definitive direction. Aidan was subsequently mentored and guided by Ric Lee (Ten Years After) Otis Grand and David Roback (Mazzy Star Opal, The Rain Parade) honing his songwriting skills, guitar chops, embracing the blues as well as learning his way around a recording studio that would lead to later production work.

Fashion Odds: Your based in the UK; do you feel that helps or hinders your work ?

Aidan: The UK is a great place to experiment and get your identity and/or brand going,

There’s alot of exciting things going in in the UK right now, there’s always an equal exchange between the UK and the US historically.

You [the U.S] gave us the Blues; we gave you the Beatles and the stones, right now in the U.S. you got guys like Gary Clark Jr and D’angelo again giving us some righteous

rock, and classic R & B, so we’re getting it together now to give it right back to you, Liam Bailey, Joe Fox and yours truly.

Fashion Odds: Which famous musicians do you admire?

Aidan: I admire Muddy Waters, Jay Z, Albert King and Kanye West.
