Eco-Friendly Fashion Impact with Naja

You are one of 7 billion people who impact the Earth’s well being every day. According to NASA, carbon dioxide levels in the air are at their highest in 650,000 years. Nine of the ten warmest years on record have occurred in 2000. The list of facts and evidence goes on and on and there’s no denying that the earth is no longer what it used to be. Whether you want to be a part of the conversation or not, it affects you and everyone around you.

If you’re an avid fashion collector like myself, take a closer look at the decisions you are making on your shopping trips. I may not be an expert on global climate change or environmental movements, but there are choices I can make on a daily basis. Whether the efforts are small or big, they all make a difference. With earth-friendly inspirations from Naja, I share two of my earth-friendly pieces that are staples to my wardrobe and lifestyle.

Eco-Friendly Fashion Impact

Lycocell Denim Shirt, H&M (see similar here). I love the H&M CONSCIOUS initiative and this shirt in particular is one of my favorites. Lycocell is the generic name for a biodegradable fabric that is made from treated wood pulp. Known for it’s versatility, strength, and durability both wet or dry, it is used in everything from clothing to cars. The raw materials needed to make it also take up much less land and water than those needed for comparable materials like cotton. Lighter than your typical denim, this shirt is perfect to throw over casual tanks, tees, and dresses.

Takeya Glass Water Bottle (see similar here). Glass water bottles are infinitely recyclable and I just love how simple and yet high fashion Takeya bottles look. Among reusable water bottles, glass bottles are popular for having no odor or taste to your liquids. They are slightly heavier than plastic or aluminum, but this silicone sleeve provides a strong grip. I try to carry it wherever I can, most especially to work and the gym!

Earth conscious efforts are not only trending, but a must in today’s generation if we are to obtain a more sustainable fashion future. We were inspired by Naja‘s passion to proactively make earth conscious decisions. Naja is an afforable, luxury lingerie brand changing the lives of women through lingerie. Their new collection of eco-friendly bras are made from recycled plastic bottles (PET). Sweat-wicking and antimicrobial, these pieces are perfect for all-day wear.

In addition to earth conscious efforts, Naja is also committed to social efforts in improving the lives of women through empowerment. Through their Underwear for Hope program, Naja trains and employs single or head of household mothers to sew so that they can help themselves and their families. When you educate a woman, everything changes.
