Rick Owens and VEJA are back on their third project. The Fall 2020 range consists of Runner Style 2 and Runner Style Mid, all of which have incorporated sustainability features.
The Rick Owens x VEJA Runner Style 2 showcases a V-knit upper made of recycled plastic bottle polyester, a midsole made of 46 per cent sugar cane and 8 per cent banana oil, and an outsole made of raw cork, 30 per cent Amazonian rubber and 31 per cent rice waste. The Runner Style Mid has the same V-knit upper, a new 54 per cent bio-based midsole with L-Foam cushioning, and a new 64 per cent bio-based cork outsole with longitudinal and lateral flex grooves for better support.
Runner Style 2 is a reinterpretation of the VEJA FW19 runner, based on a smoother and lighter sole. The footwear even sees VEJA putting natural cork in the outsole for the first time ever.
A high-top sock silhouette, the Runner Model Mid also comes with a bio-based cork outsole, while the newly crafted sole makes the shoe lighter and more comfortable.
You can buy this Eco-friendly sneakers for $290 (Runner Style 2) and $315 (Runner Style Mid) In-store and online at VEJA
