Animals are a theme in which the creative director Riccardo Tisci and the founder Thomas Burberry of Burberry find common ground. He has created his own animal kingdom, a consistent motif in Tisci ‘s work, while at the British label, partly inspired by the design for his original emblem that presented a knight on a horse. A panther has been chosen as the animal for her first-ever bag campaign to join Bella Hadid in the photoshoot.
The superstar model, captured by Inez and Vinoodh, climbs onto a big cat model while clutching her Burberry pocket purse, or throw it loosely over her shoulder. The bag is inspired by the archive of the brand and features a rectangular design, with a large pocket of the same shape protruding from the front and an ovoid handle carved to the top.
Speaking on the initiative, Bella Hadid said “‘I absolutely loved shooting this campaign, letting my inner animal spirit run free! We had so much fun on set, the mood was really sultry and playful, I felt we were really capturing that feline energy and power. This is my second campaign for Burberry and it is always such an exciting experience working with Riccardo – he has such amazing creative ideas and ways of interpreting a collection.’
The bag is now available to shop globally and online from Burberry stores in a range of sizes, colours, and materials.
